In a week (21 August) the Sun conjoins the Ursa Major supercluster at 29 Leo 48.Why note the Sun to these far-out, distant points? First, the Sun is the most massive component of our solar system. It emanates warmth, light and supports life on our planet. Given its light and what can be seen with direct lighting, the Sun symbolizes conscious awareness to the matter at hand or something under consideration. If astrologers intend to determine the influence of superclusters on daily life, when the Sun passes these points, the collective likely takes notice of and seeks to integrate all matters related to the implications the object enjoying the solar transit whether initially realized or not.
Some supercluster basics to get things started: A supercluster is a gravitational congregation of galactic objects within a relatively compact space in the Universe. Because of the immense gravitational influence between the plethora of objects located within such a gathering, huge drawing power is implied. Each object in the clustering, like the community, state, county, planet, solar system upon which one survives (and hopefully thrives), enjoys extreme gravitational interplay. Gravitational attraction takes no thought. It is a fundamental law of the Universe and is second nature, so much so, perhaps it functions as unconscious. And where there’s intense gravity, dilation of time and space warps also occur.
As a result of the interplay within the supercluster and how it impacts the space surrounding its location, superclusters represent what one seeks to attract or repel into ones intended sphere of influence or within their personal congregation on connections. These influences are felt up close and personal, apply to ones efforts in life and most certainly apply in the realm of cyberspace. This can be extended to suggest personal and professional branding in the interest of utilizing ones drawing power in the collective. In today’s terminology, a supercluster can be associated with ones status as an influencer or ones desire to function as an influencer.
Given that virtually every person alive contends with Eris in Aries in their natal chart, each human constantly reacts with their desire to be invited to special events, included in the best of activities, and feeling as if one is an invited participant in the scheme of life. Are superclusters an antidote to the angst of Eris? Time will tell. Certainly, they imply ones organic attraction relative to persons, places and things. Now that solid positional data can be found for most of the superclusters, as the Sun traverses each of these objects, humankind gets a three to five day view inside the inner workings of supercluster influence.
As the Sun transits the Ursa Major supercluster, the natural astrological tendency is to seek mythological or symbolic reference. Here the Sun crosses the supercluster named for a big bear (generally considered to be female) in the sky, which points to the North Star, a compass reference or guiding star implication. Most cultures have a tale to tell about the constellation, or more notably, the asterism that is the Big Dipper, each with its own variation. Important to supercluster purposes, the awareness of this stellar stunner is universal. The Big Dipper even made its way into Van Gogh’s 1888 painting, “Starry Night Over the Rhone.”
In Native American Lore, the bear in Ursa Major is being tracked by hunters. In reality, bears are always on the hunt - constantly on the search for what keeps them alive and thriving. Bears possess the speed and dexterity to pluck salmon from a churning river. They are opportunistic. They love to munch upon those berries serendipitously encountered. If they can find an easy meal courtesy of careless campers, they are not too proud to pass it by. They know when to rest and hibernate, hopefully in a comfortable den inside a cave. They honor their innate metabolism. They are protective of their young. All the qualities of the bear can easily apply to what humans do to get by without any stretch of the imagination.
For humans too, life is about the hunt for everything that supports life and thriving. Physically, the hunt is to locate the means to provide for physical sustenance. And then, there’s the hunt for a safe space to retreat and rest. On the internal, the hunt is for the next insight that makes all the difference in the course one takes in life. The hunt is for the signs required to recognize each and every opportunity that appears. The hunt is for a full internal search to locate all assets and attributes of value and shimmering appeal when scrubbed up, to combine those qualities and to get them cooperating and congregating to supports ones greatest yearnings. And with the Sun to the Ursa Major supercluster, the hunt transforms to ones ability to attract and draw all that supports life in the best of ways.
Within Ursa Major mythologies, the grace of Jupiter certainly applies. This supercluster carries the essence of such providence. Intrinsic within this complex is an appreciation of the value of petitioning the heavens. Combined as the ever important part two is the wisdom to accept, by hook or by crook, the grace of the gods when it arrives. This wisdom comes only from experience and dedicated involvement in the world of wishing, hoping, intending, enacting and then, fully engaging in the give and take process of cosmic law contained within propitiation. Ask for help and support; the Universe may return with a favor request or at least the insistence that one pass along all integrated experiences and insights understood to those encountered on the path of life. Therein, a satisfying symbiosis occurs in which those of the world and those in the heavens can equally be pleased and supported by the results of the transaction.
This supercluster is supercharged by its current last minute position in Leo. Notably, the inference of this supercluster shifts significantly in about a decade and a half when it crosses the state line of Virgo. But back to now: There is the need to value ones stature and all aspects of oneself derived from life experience. There is a feeling for the wholeness of ones being as developed over time. There is the need to support and revere all traditions and customs that one has adopted along the way.
One may assert this supercluster inflames ego-related matters. It’s actually about impeccability in the presentation manner. It is not about faking it until “it” integrates. It is about presenting the best that one is... and looking ahead toward the Virgo influence to come, with impeccability. Would you rather be treated with a doctor wearing crisp clothes, with alert eyes and a stethoscope properly positioned around the neck, or a doctor in wrinkled scrubs that appear to have been slept in with a stethoscope hanging out of whatever pocket? Which provides the greatest level of confidence?
It’s not about vanity with the supercluster, it is about taking some of that proportionately warped time to ensure that everything about the self and the presentation of cosmic insights is presented within the best and greatest package. The truth is: currently humans are wooed and influenced by presentation, performance and nifty packaging. With this supercluster extraordinary attention to the presentation stimulates the required receptivity such that one may deliver cosmic insights to a hunting world unconsciously drawn toward the messaging.
